Privacy

The goal of Tagger is to make information easy to put in and easy to get out when and where you need it. Security is an important consideration, but it is not the primary consideration. When you make a tag public there is no security.

If you have data that you want to share with Tagger but are concerned about it needing to be more secure, please refer to using Tagger securely.

Our privacy policy is very simple - your data is yours and we don't touch it, look at it, or sell it in any way, with just a few exceptions. Here are the exceptions:

# Images

Every image that is uploaded is analyzed by the system to screen for things like pornography. If the system indicates a high likliehood that the image could contain such material, a human will review the image to make sure it is acceptable.

There are two reasons we have to do this. The laws around child pornography especially require us to take some meaningful actions to police our network. And the goal of Tagger is to provide easy and fast access to small pieces of relevant information exactly when and where you need them, it is not intended to be a content distribution network used to send pictures around the internet.

WARNING

If an image is found to violate our acceptable use policy, it will be deleted. Repeated violations will result in termination of the user's account. If an image is suspected to contain evidence of illegal acts, it will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, as required by law.

# Logfiles

Certain events are logged on our system and those log files may be inspected to maintain proper performance of the system. The events that cause a log entry to be created include:

  • Logging in
  • Logging out
  • Scanning a tag
  • Adding data to a tag
  • Deleting data from a tag
  • Uploading a file
  • Downloading a file

You can view the log entries associated with a specific tag in the metadata section the tag details.

# Downloading Your Data

You can download your data from Tagger at any time for backup or to migrate to another system. Once your data is downloaded, it is free of any Tagger security restrictions.

# Technical Support

We may request more detailed information from you in order to solve problems with the program.

We don't use cookies.

# Local Storage

Data may be cached locally on your device to improve performance. You can use your browser's 'Empty Cache' function to delete it.

# Marketing

We do not share your data with third-party marketers.

Except as noted above, we do not examine the information you put into Tagger.

It is possible that at some future time that we may automatically look at the data in your Tagger tags and make recomendations of products or services that you may be interested in. The current roadmap calls for any such recommendations to happen solely on the device and be completley automated. If that changes, this policy will be updated and all existing customers notified.
